Aberystwyth Lifeboat launched to an activated EPIRB
Aberystwyth Lifeboat was about to launch on exercise but was then tasked by the Coastguard to an activated EPIRB (Emergency position-indicating radio beacon).
Using the position provided by the Coastguard and the Lifeboat's Direction Finder a full search was completed out at sea. The signal was then traced back to Aberystwyth Harbour and a vessel ashore.
