Lifeboat attends broken down fishing vessel
On Sunday the 30 August at 7.30pm the RNLI Lifeboat from Aberystwyth was asked to go and assist a local lobster fishing boat who had suffered engine failure four miles South of Aberystwyth.
The crew of the RNLI Atlantic 85 class lifeboat 'Spirit of Friendship' was informed that a 10m lobster fishing boat had suffered an unknown engine failure near to Monks Cave south of Aberystwyth. The casualty had dropped their anchor and were safe with 2 people on board.
The lifeboat with crew Dai Lloyd, Robert Clarke, Ian Brandreth and Alex Harris soon located the vessel and took it under towed, returning back to its berth in Aberystwyth marina over an hour after launching.
