People Cut off By Tide Llanrhystud

The Lifeboat was launched to a report of people cut off by the tide just north of Llanrhystud.

Upon arrival the casualties were found on the beach round a camp fire and a crew member was put ashore. Due to the the nature of the beach and breaking waves it was to difficult for the Atlantic 85 to get in close to the beach to evacuate the casualties, therefore it was decided to launch New Quay ILB. The ILB was able to get in close enough to shore to recover the casualties and drop them off with Aberystwyth Coastguard on the slipway at Pengarreg Caravan Park. All Lifeboats were then stood down and returned to station.
