Dis masted sailing Dinghy
Lifeboat was tasked to locate and assist a dis masted sailing dinghy approximately 1 mile off Clarach bay.
After searching the area nothing was found anywhere. The lifeboat had spotted a yacht entering the harbour as it was leaving and enquries were made as to what route this boat had taken and if it had passed Clarach at the same time. The yachts owners confirmed they were in the area at the same time and had seen nothing, but had been motoring so did not have their own sail up.
It was soon apparent that the yacht had been the object originally seen by the first informant and all parties were stood down. The shout was put down to a false alarm with good intent and all returned home.
